African Angel Investor Summit Announces Theme, Calls for Speakers

On November 17, during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), Lagos Angels Network (LAN) and VC4Africa will jointly present the third annual African Angel Investor Summit in Lagos, Nigeria. Organizers are also welcoming special guests She Leads Africa and Ingressive’s Tour of Tech.
Co-investing: Making it Work Together
Theme for this year’s Summit is “Co-investing, making it work together.” With Nigeria now officially in a recession and most African economies suffering from an ongoing slump in commodity prices, working together is the only way forward to unlock capital fast. All panel discussions, keynotes and workshops during the 2016 Summit will be centered around how stakeholders in the ecosystem – angels, VC’s, government, crowdfunders, diaspora, etc. – can work together to help maximize Africa’s entrepreneurial potential.
Building the Summit Together
Working together is also how we want to build the program for the Summit: do you know a thing or two about early stage investing in Africa? Know your way around angel syndication or starting co-investment funds? Can you moderate a panel with a group of international crowdfunders or bring the VC community panel back to order? We are looking for the best-of-the-best speakers, panel experts and moderators to join us in Lagos in November, and help create tangible solutions for moving the ecosystem foreword.
Everyone is invited to contribute to the Summit program. Follow how the program is coming together at: http://www.aais2016.com/. and we look forward to hearing from you. The 2016 Summit is powered by the LIONS Africa Partnership and the Work in Progress! Alliance.
Lagos is the Place to Be
Lagos is the place to be mid-November for early-stage investors and the best-of-the-best startups in Africa. Team Ingressive is organizing an exclusive investor-only dinner on the November 16, with special guest partner Monique Woodard of 500 Startups. The African Angel Investor Summit will be followed by the High Growth Africa Summit a two-day conference on how to build, scale and fund high growth businesses in Africa. And on Sunday, November 20, She Leads Africa will host the DEMO Day of the She Leads Africa Accelerator Program, powered by the Work in Progress! Alliance.
